Today marks the start of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a global campaign that kicks off every year on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and runs until Dec. 10, Human Rights Day.
Over the course of the next 16 days, join Volunteer Action Network in standing up for women and girls and creating a more equitable world.
Did you know that one in every three women will face physical or sexual violence in her lifetime? Gender-based violence happens around the globe and is directly linked to extreme poverty.
Together, we can make a difference. By upholding women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights and supporting women’s economic independence, we can fight to end gender-based violence for good.
Ending violence against women is everyone’s business. We Join the 16 Days of Activism challenge series and help change the world.
Empowering and uplifting women and girls everywhere starts right here in Amuru District in Uganda.
